We come from Fine Arts

We design and make in Valencia. We didn't come to this from construction, but from the canvas.

Two large beige panels above the bed, with no visible frame.

The origin

We came from painting and knew how to stretch fabric over a frame. The challenge was something else: getting a fabric that, besides dressing the wall, would absorb the sound of the room. That was how KalmArt began.

How it is made

Open-pore natural fabric, linen or cotton, stretched over a frame, with absorbent material behind. The open pore is not an aesthetic detail: it is what lets sound through to the core. A closed fabric, however beautiful, returns sound just like the wall.

With or without acoustics

Not every space needs acoustic correction. That is why the same panel exists in a purely decorative version, with direct printing and artists' work. Acoustics is an option, not a condition.

Artists

Two artists work on panels with techniques that do not close the pore of the fabric.
